Roundup Litigation

As mentioned above, Roundup is still being stocked in retail stores and sold online to consumers, even after many juries have awarded millions of dollars (and even $2 billion in one case) to plaintiffs who claim to have suffered Roundup exposure injuries. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has not classified Roundup as a hazardous product. However, the International Association for Research on Cancer, which is part of the World Health Organization, has found that Roundup’s active ingredient, glyphosate, is a probable cause of cancer in humans.

Additional allegations have been made that Monsanto manufactured information and covered up findings in its studies related to Roundup safety. It has been reported that the EPA relied, at least in part, on these skewed study results when it came to the conclusion that Roundup is safe for consumer use.

Types of Cancer

Reportedly, glyphosate exposure can cause the following types of cancer:

  • Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
  • Leukemia
  • B-cell lymphoma
  • Multiple myeloma
  • Other rare forms of cancer
