One dead, one injured in truck accident

People hit the roads in Kentucky with thousands of other drivers every day. Unfortunately, this means that they put themselves at risk of getting into an accident, which is an inevitable side effect of sharing the road. Sometimes, these accidents can even be deadly, leaving family members wondering what happened.

One Campbell County resident has ended up dead after crashing into a Rumpke truck. The driver, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was reportedly traveling down the wrong lane. The crash led to a fire that involved both vehicles, but the Rumpke truck driver was able to leave the accident with only minor injuries. Authorities were notified shortly after – a woman, who was in her kitchen, called 911 and reported hearing the accident occur. Unfortunately, the driver of the pickup truck was later pronounced dead at the scene.

As of now, it is still unknown why the driver was going down the wrong lane of the road. Very little is currently known about the driver of the pickup truck, including the driver’s driving history and habits on the road, but it was reported that the driver of the Rumpke truck had a long-standing history with the trucking company with over twenty years of experience.

Even if you take precautions to keep yourself safe while on the road, unpredictable circumstances may occur. For that reason, accidents should be considered something that can happen to anyone at any time. If you have been involved in an accident, you may want to consider speaking with an attorney.
