High-speed car crash kills Kentucky man

According to law enforcement authorities and the county coroner, a 19-year-old man died in a pileup accident. Reportedly, the accident happened on April 21 in Lexington around 6:45 a.m.

Witnesses indicated that a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed. When it approached an intersection, the car apparently hit a truck before the driver lost control. The force of the initial collision caused the car to spin. It was then T-boned by a third vehicle. A fourth vehicle also become involved in the collision.

The deceased victim was a passenger in the speeding vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, and police indicated he died of several blunt force injuries. Two drivers involved in the accident were injured and required transport to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Police did not indicate whether one of the injured drivers was the driver of the speeding vehicle. They also did not indicate whether any criminal charges were pending. The accident resulted in the closure of the inbound lanes for several hours while police investigated the accident scene.

When people are seriously injured or killed in a car crash caused by a negligent driver, injured victims and the families of those killed may file civil lawsuits against the driver who was responsible. The economic and non-economic losses suffered due to serious injury and fatal accidents are often significant. Through personal injury or wrongful death lawsuits, aggrieved plaintiffs may seek recovery of damages for all of the losses they have suffered as a result of the accident. Plaintiffs may benefit by seeking the help of a personal injury attorney. An attorney might help by filing civil complaints and advocating on their client's behalf to maximize their recovery.
